A Life Dedicated to Running

Becca Pizzi, 46, is a lifelong runner, endurance athlete, and proud resident of Belmont, Massachusetts, where she lives with her husband, Joe, and their daughter, Taylor. A 1998 graduate of Belmont High School, Becca’s passion for running began at an early age and has grown into one of the most inspiring careers in endurance sports. Through years of determination, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, she has become a role model for runners around the world while never losing sight of her hometown roots.

In 2016, Becca made history as the first American woman to complete the legendary World Marathon Challenge—running seven marathons on seven continents in seven consecutive days. The feat pushed the limits of both physical and mental endurance, earning her international recognition. Refusing to settle for one historic accomplishment, Becca returned to the challenge and shattered the Guinness World Record, completing the event in an astonishing 6 days, 7 hours, and 58 minutes. Her achievements continue to inspire athletes of all ages to believe that extraordinary goals can be accomplished through preparation, perseverance, and heart.

Over the years, Becca has built an impressive resume that extends far beyond the World Marathon Challenge. She has completed a marathon in all 50 states, conquered the prestigious Abbott World Marathon Majors, and proudly finished 22 consecutive Boston Marathons. Her passion for endurance sports has also led her to compete in the Ironman World Championships in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii (2023 and 2025) and Nice, France (2024), proving that her drive to challenge herself continues to grow with every new opportunity.

Giving Back Through Running

While Becca’s athletic accomplishments are remarkable, she believes her greatest successes come from inspiring others and giving back to the community that has supported her throughout her journey. She credits much of her success to the encouragement of her family, friends, coaches, and the incredible Belmont running community. Their support has fueled her passion and motivated her to help the next generation discover the confidence and life lessons that running can provide.

Today, Becca serves as the Race Director for the World Marathon Challenge, helping runners from across the globe pursue one of endurance sports’ greatest adventures. She is also the Race Director of the annual Becca Pizzi 5K, an event now celebrating its 11th year, which has become a beloved community tradition that brings together runners, families, and supporters for a meaningful cause. Through these events, Becca continues to share her knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm with athletes of every level.

In addition to organizing races, Becca founded the Becca Pizzi Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting local student-athletes and encouraging young people to pursue their dreams through education, sports, and community involvement. The foundation has awarded more than $100,000 in scholarships and athletic support, helping students achieve opportunities that extend far beyond the finish line. Her commitment to giving back reflects the same determination and generosity that has defined her athletic career.

Inspiring Future Generations

Becca’s influence reaches beyond races and competitions. She is passionate about inspiring children to dream big, work hard, and understand that success comes from perseverance rather than shortcuts. Whether speaking at schools, mentoring young athletes, or participating in community events, she encourages others to embrace challenges and believe in their own potential.

She is also the author of the children’s book Becca’s Feat on Feet, which shares her remarkable journey in a way that inspires young readers to stay active, overcome obstacles, and never give up on their goals. Every copy sold supports the Becca Pizzi Foundation, with all proceeds going directly toward scholarships and programs that benefit local students and athletes.

Through her accomplishments, leadership, philanthropy, and commitment to her community, Becca Pizzi has become far more than an elite endurance athlete. She is an ambassador for the sport of running, a mentor to aspiring athletes, and a champion for giving back. Her story continues to inspire people around the world to chase ambitious goals, support one another, and discover that with determination, anything is possible.
